How to clean a fridge water dispenser

A fridge water dispenser is a fun feature that sometimes gets overlooked during a routine kitchen cleaning. But cleaning it thoroughly is important to ensure you're drinking clean, bacteria-free water. Ideally cleaning the water dispenser at least once every two months will be good to keep it clean and safe to use. To additionally improve the water quality, we also recommend changing your water filter every 6 months.

Step by step guide

Bosch Fridge Water Dispenser

1. Start by switching off the water supply connected to the dispenser.
2. Then, loosen the screw connecting the water supply pump and water tank and slide the water tube off.
3. Now use a small funnel and simply pour three to four cups of distilled vinegar inside the tube and make sure to hold the tube upright so all the vinegar goes in.
4. Tape it to your fridge's wall and let it drain into the water system. Use this same method for your ice dispenser if your fridge has a built-in ice maker
5. Now, run the water system multiple times to check that the vinegar has gone through all the necessary tubing in your fridge. While this system is running, feel free to use a vinegar-dipped toothbrush to scrub the water spout.
6. Continue running the water system until you can't detect any taste or smell of vinegar in your water and ice cubes.
7. When you can no longer sense vinegar, your system is fully clean and ready for regular use again.
