How to use the Calc'N'Clean function

The Calc’N’Clean is an easy, automatic descaling process for your coffee machine that only requires descaling tablets. It should take approximately 26 minutes, and combines descaling and cleaning process together. Your coffee machine will suggest this function if both processes are required. You should aim to descale your machine regularly, around every 1-2 months, to protect your machine from limescale build-up.

1. Touch [ Calc'nClean ] to select the programme.
2. Clean the beverage outlet and replace, empty the drip trays and replace.
3. Open the ground coffee drawer, drop in a cleaning tablet and close the coffee drawer again.
4. Remove the water filter (if there is one) and press [▷].
5. Pour lukewarm water into the empty water tank up to the “0.5 l” mark and then dissolve one Bosch descaling tablet in it.
6. Remove the suction pipe from milk container, wipe it and insert the end of the suction pipe into the hole on the coffee grounds container.
7. Close the appliance door.
8. Place a container with a capacity of 0.5 litre under the beverage outlet.
9. Press [▷]. The programme will now run for about 19 minutes.
10. Remove the container and press [▷].
11. Rinse the water tank and (if removed), then replace the water filter.
12. Fill the tank with fresh water up to the “max” indicator.
13. Replace the water tank and close the door.
14. Place the container underneath the beverage outlet again.
15. Press [▷]. The programme will now run for about 7 minutes and rinse the appliance.
16. Remove the container, empty the drip trays, replace and close the appliance door.
17. Press [▷]. The appliance is descaled, cleaned and ready for use again.
18. Press [droplet icon] to exit the program.
