Cleaning your coffee machine

Cleaning and caring for your coffee machine is crucial to maintain your appliance’s performance and lifespan. Without regular cleaning, your coffee machine can be impacted by a build-up of dirt and limescale, which can damage internal parts of your appliance and lead to costly repairs.

Daily cleaning

Daily cleaning your coffee machine exterior is quick and easy; use a damp cloth to wipe the outside of the appliance, and a micro-fibre cloth on the control panel.

Do not:

  • Use abrasive cloths or product.
  • Use cleaning agents which contain alcohol or spirits as these can damage the stainless steel.

It’s important to remove any residue and limescale after every use to prevent corrosion from forming beneath the deposits. The drip tray and coffee grounds container should be emptied and cleaned every day to prevent deposit build up. Simply remove these parts from the machine to clean and dry individually.

Risk of electric shock: never submerge your appliance in water or attempt to steam clean!

Dishwasher cleaning

Certain elements of the appliance are suitable to be cleaned in the dishwasher. These include: drip plate, coffee grounds container, milk tubes, suction pipes, individual parts of the beverage outlet, measuring spoon, and individual parts of the milk container lid.

However, some parts must not be put in the dishwasher, such as: accessory drawer, water tank, lid of the water tank, beverage outlet cover, bean container, lid of the bean container, metal connecting element, ground coffee drawer, protective cover of the brewing unit and the milk container.

Specialist cleaning

There are several elements of your coffee machine which need regular, specialist cleaning to keep them functioning at their best, such as the milk system and the brewing unit.

Please remember that instructions may vary per appliance, and it’s always worth checking the appliance's instruction manual or contacting us if you’re unsure.
