What do customers say about our dishwashers?

Excellent integrated dishwasher

We are really pleased with our new dishwasher. We like the cutlery shelf rather than a basket. No negatives that we have found.

Good Bosch Wash but not user-friendly

My wife and I belong to that probably significant proportion of the population who rely on having a dishwasher which is simple to use and does a good job in cleaning crockery and cutlery for a good many years without any major difficulties arising. Our last Bosch Dishwasher Model No. SGS46E22 purchased on 03 June 2008 amply satisfied this expectation: it reached the end of its life after almost 18 years regular use, mostly using the same default programme we had chosen. All we had to do was ensure that detergent, salt and rinse aid requirements were fulfilled, load the dishwasher and press ‘On’. Our newly acquired SMS26AW08G/64 installed on 26 March 2026 has turned out to be not so user friendly thus far: Its default programme, ‘Eco 50ºC’ takes 3 hours, which is too long when you want to use some of the crockery which is being washed sooner than after waiting for 3 hours, or when there is a 2nd load waiting to be done. The user manual does not inform you that this default programme cannot be changed – and so I spent 2 hours trying to change the default programme to the ‘Quick 1 hour wash’, without success, largely because the results of my Google search for instructions did not work. It was only when I did a second Google Search a couple of days later using AI that I was informed that the default programme cannot be changed on this model, but that for each new wash, after turning the dishwasher ‘On’, we could select our programme of choice and then press ‘Start’. Unfortunately, this did not always work: the dishwasher would automatically revert to the default 3 hour programme and would ignore the 1 hour programme we were trying to select. Again, the instruction booklet did not tell us how to overcome this glitch, but a Google search using AI provided the work around so as to be able to avoid the default programme and select our chosen programme. So in conclusion, this newer model is not nearly as user friendly as our last long lasting simple to use model – and the user manual has to be supplemented by a Google search using AI. I am glad to say that other than these difficulties, the dishwasher provides the excellent Bosch wash to which we have been accustomed for many years – thank you. My good wife says that Bosch should change the machine, because the product description: 1. does not inform the buyer that the default programme cannot be changed except on a wash by wash basis; and 2. the user manual does not tell you what to do when the default programme will not permit you make your own selection; and 3. also because for the first few washes there has been a strong smell of rubber emanating from the machine. I have replied that this probably would only happen if Bosch decided, as a gesture of good will, to exchange the machine to one which allows the purchaser to decide the default programme – and that I had read somewhere that there is likely to be a smell of rubber when the dishwasher is used for the first time.

Quiet dishwasher

Delighted with my purchase, machine is lovely and easy to use. Very quiet and has a variety of different setting to use including my favourite express 60 degrees wash.

Excellent dishwasher

It cleans perfectly. I am very pleased with it.

Easy to use and full of features

Bought this to replace a 15 year old bosch dishwasher that broke down. It's full of useful washing programs and I found it easy to use. It does an excellent job on the auto setting for most loads but after a sunday roast I use the intensive setting which does a great job on our stainless steel roasting tin. Glasses come out sparkling too.
