Start your day #LikeaBosch.

Only two thirds of us Brits bother with breakfast. Millions of us prefer to skip what has been classed as ‘the most important meal of the day’, preferring to graze and caffeinate our way through to lunchtime. But overnight, our bodies have been hard at work, burning calories and recharging us ready to take on a new day - meaning it’s important to literally ‘break our fast’ in the morning to give ourselves the fuel we need to replenish our energy.

Treat yourself to a morning makeover.

For some, breakfast is simply an uninspiring meal. Either we’re short on time, preferring a few extra minutes in bed to spending them in the kitchen; or we’re fed up of having the same old cereal every day. While we are great at planning our evening meals, our morning ones are often neglected and we can get into some bad breakfast habits – choosing sugary quick fixes over the nutritious options.

What makes a good breakfast?

In an ideal world your breakfast should follow the three ‘F’s’ – they should be ‘Filling’, ‘Fibrous’ and ‘Fresh’ but they can also be ‘Frugal’ and ‘Fast’ – meaning you don’t need to spend loads of time and money to give your body a boost in the morning. Kick start your day with a good balanced breakfast of protein, fibre and fruit and veg and you’re on to a winner.

Raise a toast.

From bagels to bread, fruit loaf to crumpets and even potato waffles – your Bosch toaster is a superhero when it comes to making fast and delicious breakfasts. Whether you are in the mood for a healthy wholegrain bagel with avocado and smoked salmon or you prefer a simple sourdough with a light coating of butter and marmalade – a little creativity can transform your regular morning slice to the ‘toast with the most’.

Get cracking.

You may think of cooking in the morning as time you can’t possibly spare, but in less than a minute you can prepare a delicious omelette – simply crack and beat your eggs while your pan is heating, pour them in and move them around a little to cook evenly, top with grated cheese if it takes your fancy, and fold it onto your plate.

Get up and go.

But if even that is too time consuming, you could prepare your breakfast the night before. Overnight oats are not only healthy, but they literally take no time to cook. Because you don’t cook them. Simply soak your raw oats with milk overnight in the fridge and in the morning top with anything from fresh fruit to nut butter, cinnamon to chia seeds and you’ll have a healthy, delicious breakfast on your hands that really packs a protein punch.
