Types of steam oven.To steam cook, choose a steam-only oven or combination steam oven. Models with added steam give bread or roast chicken a crispy crust and moist interior, but aren't suitable for steam cooking.

Capacity and size.Combination steam ovens measure 60 x 60 cm or 60 x 45 cm (w x h) and fit a standard-sized kitchen cabinet. At 60 x 45 cm (w x h), steam-only ovens are compact in size.
