Installing a Chimney Hood

Correct installation method for ducted hood system

1. The pipe is not bent immediately at the exhaust opening. There is a minimum distance of 30cm between exhaust opening and the first bend.
2. There is only 1 bend on the pipe duct.
3. The length of the pipe duct is kept as short as possible.
4. The surface of the inner duct is even and smooth.
5. The duct is designed to be as wide as possible for optimal air flow.
6. The opening of the lamella in the wall box is kept as wide as possible and micro mesh is not used.

Wrong installation method for ducted hood systems

1. Pipe is bent immediately at the exhaust opening. Leave a minimum distance of 30cm between exhaust opening and the first bend.
2. There are more than 2 bends on the pipe duct with 1 bending at a sharp 90°angle. Ensure that there is only 1 bend and choose a gentler 45°angle.
3. The pipe duct is too long. Keep it as short as possible.
4. The inner duct is rough and uneven. Choose a surface that is even and smooth.
5. The duct design is narrow at certain parts. Ensure that the duct design is as wide as possible for optimal air flow.
6. For the wall box, keep the opening between lamella wide and avoid using micro mesh to reduce back pressure.
