Coffee machine display shows 'Refill with still water or remove filter'

There are several reasons why your coffee machine is displaying this error.

  • Your water tank has been inserted incorrectly.
  • There is carbonated water in the water tank.
  • The float is stuck in the water tank.
  • There is air trapped in the water filter.
  • The new water filter was not rinsed according to the instructions, or it is defective.

Solution

To resolve this error you can try several things:

  • Ensure the water tank is inserted correctly.
  • Fill the water tank with fresh tap water.
  • Remove the tank and clean thoroughly.
  • Rinse the water filter according to the instructions and then switch on.
  • Replace the water filter with a new one.

Have you descaled your coffee machine recently?

An alternative solution to resolving this issue is to descale the appliance using either a descaling tablet or a liquid descaler. Limescale deposits can also cause blockages that are challenging for the machine to detect. If that doesn't solve the problem, please contact our customer service team.
