Safety

Top of page
  • Secure
Secure With Bosch, the safety of our appliances is extremely important and is ideally combined with a further convenient feature. One example of this is Secure, the clever auto shut-off. This function ensures safety and also saves energy because the iron switches off when it is left or is not used for a long time. To be precise, the iron switches off after 30 seconds when horizontal or after 8 minutes when standing on its base in a vertical position. This is a very convenient, safe and modern function that ensures worry-free ironing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from fantasti ironI have had the item a month now and have used nothing but this iron. I was concerend at how big it was having always used a smaller style of iron. ON first use i was debious but once it heated up and i started to use it my clothes looked great. When i went work next day people asked me why my shirts looked ironed lol i wasnt amused as i always ironed my clothes but the Sensixx obviously was more noticiable. My advice to anyone buying this please make sure you use miniral water as suggested in the guidelines, by doing this your sensixx will last as you wont have issue with limescales etc which if you use tap water it could lead to build up and issues. Fantastic Iron, Easy to use, and my clothes look great would deffinatly recomend

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Ironing Experience! This review has been submitted as part of a Bosch In-Home product test. I have never had a steam generator iron before. I had for many years thought about it but I didn't think the cost would outweigh the difference in performance of a convential iron. How wrong was I. It cuts down on effort and time considerably and I would never go back to a normal iron now. It arrived and my first thought was 'Is it going to be too big for my normal ironing board? I do my ironing in the box room so how is this going to work space wise?' Out of the packaging, it is of course bigger than a bog standard iron but it looked good and the iron itself was really lightweight. When buying my old (another brand) irons I went on the premise the heavier the better - more weight meant less creases, so was dubious how this was going to work. But it did, very well. Setting up was easy - I always thought that irons should never have a complicated instruction booklet although on this occasion I did read it and the English bit of the manual was short and easy to understand. People have previously written in reviews I have read about the time you had to wait for it to 'heat up' but this was quicker than I expected. Once I had my ironing sorted it was already heated so not a problem at all. My biggest worry was that the steam generator bit (sorry for the lack of technical language) was going to be too big for my normal sized ironing board. But it did fit on the stand of the ironing board- albeit, in the future, I will probably invest in a ironing board designed for steam generators; and you can always put the steam generator somewhere else and use just the plate on the ironing board itself. The control knobs are simple and easy to understand. The first time I used the iron I was mainly ironing cottton sheets so I set it to the highest temperture on both the steam generator base and the iron itself. This seemed sensible although why you need controls on both the iron and the steam generator I still don't understand really. The ironing was the best bit. It glided over the sheets and clothes with no need for any weight from myself at all. The soleplate is smooth and it easily reached all nooks and crannies of my ironing. Pushing the steam button located on the underside of the iron hand grip was simple and it never ran out like my old iron did. I can honestly say that it made ironing vaguely pleasurable and cut my time ironing by about 25%. I use spray starch on my sheets and shirts and it handled this with no problems at all. There was no water leakage onto the clothes at all. The water filling tank is removable which makes it easy to fill up at a tap and the tank slips back onto the generator with ease. We are in a very soft water area so removing limescale is something I do not have to worry about. One negative would be you can't use ironing water in the tank (just plain tap water) and I like using ironing water to make the clothes smell nice so will have to see if I can get something you spray on the clothes not put in the tank. Storage is a bit of a problem as space is limited. My old iron hung up on an ironing bracket on the wall of the wardrobe, which this one can't do so I have had to make room for it elsewhere but it is not heavy to move anyway. Overall a fantastic introduction to the world of steam generator irons for me and a brilliant iron. Will never go back to non-steam generator irons. Makes ironing so much easier. A powerful iron that does all the work for you. Highly recommended- light, powerful, looks good and most importantly, simple to use. Can't say I love ironing now, but it is not a chore anymore!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sensixx B35L Premiuer PowerThis review has been submitted as part of a Bosch In-Home product test. This Sensixx B35L is my first experience of using a Steam Generator type iron and i wasn't too sure what to expect. I had looked at them in the past, but decided that the price compared to a regular iron was just too much. After having used the steam generator, i can quite easily say that the extra money would be worth spending. The iron is made up of 2 main parts - the base, which generates the steam and the iron itself. The base is quite large measuring approximately 40cm x 22cm x 19cm (L x W x H including the water tank). The front edge of the base is where you will find the power button to switch the iron on/off, as well as a steam control dial and indicator lights to tell you when the iron is ready to use and when you need to fill the water tank. The top of the base is where the 1.4l water tank pushes into place. A really nice feature of the water tank is that you can re-fill the tank without having to switch off the machine, so that the iron is continuously ready to use. The iron is not designed to stand on it's heel, so a removable heat pad takes up the rest of the space on the bases top surface. This is another nice feature, as it means you can place the base on the floor and place the heat pad onto your ironing board. The iron has a nice shape to it and is quite light in weight compared to my old regular iron. A steam control dial is placed below the handle (in the usual place), whilst a red trigger button is placed on the underside of the handle - holding this button in will release a continuous jet of steam. The CeraniumGlissée (what ever that is) sole plate is very nice and allows the iron to glide over different types of material with ease. The tip of the iron has quite a nice point to it, making it easy to get into those hard to iron places. Using the iron is pretty simple. It is really a case of filling the water tank, plugging the iron into the mains and switching it on. Select a steam setting appropriate to the material you want to iron (starting with the most delicate items first and increasing the amount of stream as the items are less delicate). After a couple of minutes, the steam indicator light will tell you that the iron is ready to use. There are 2 steam setting controls (1 on the base and the other on the iron). I haven't really worked out why the need for 2, so i just set the base to a fairly high setting and use the control on the iron to adjust the output. I have found that the best way to use the steam, is to hold the steam button down whilst pushing the iron in one direction on your clothes and then releasing the button when pulling it back the other way, as this stops your clothes from becoming wet. Overall, i have been very impressed with the performance of the steam generator. Ironing with this product is much faster than when using my old regular type of iron and as somebody that doesn't like ironing, this is a huge bonus as it literally halves the amount of ironing time and although more expensive than a regular iron i would happily buy another steam generator for the ease and amount of time saved. Pros: Fast Ironing Speed Long cable and hose Very nice sole plate Large capacity water tank Cable and hose storage Cons: Slightly bulky (making it a little arkward to store) Will probably need descaling more than a regular iron

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it saysSubmitted as part of a selected review panel I was extremely happy to see that this model has some improvements. I have had an older model in the past and I was happy even with that but the aesthetic improvements definitely make it look more expensive. The water tank has a big improvement. The old water tank was not very sturdy and the lid always came off. This new one is definitely more sturdy and the lid stays on. Also the power cord now has a better way of wrapping in front of the machine and stays wrapped. The iron itself , I think , is lighter than it used to be. And the blade just slides so easy on the fabric. I have tried it on different fabrics and I haven't had any issues at all. Also the temperature wheel now does not just turn easy whenever you touch it. It has a lot or steam power and even the most wrinkled items come up really nice. I don't usually iron my bed linen, but whilst having this item I have started ironing my bed linen again. As a steam generator it does everything I could think of. The only downside is when you have to clean the tank in order for the limescale to be eliminated. Is not the best system in my opinion. You have this big screw-on thing that is not easy to unscrew. Also the fact that is underneath the machine it does not really appeal to everyone. Maybe a better way and easier way could be found in order to help customers. I have had the previous model for about two years until the iron itself broke(would not heat up). I think it would have lasted even longer If I took better care of the iron itself. So I think this steam generator will last for quite a while. Obviously it depends on how much you would iron as well. Honestly I have tried to find bad things about this item while I have used it ,but overall I would say is a very good buy. The price for this item I think is very good too. You don't need to buy one every year so I would consider it a very good long term investment.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very pleased!I've had this iron for about a month or so now and have had no issues with it. It's a tad larger than my last iron but is more powerful. It's not too heavy so you will not get any cramps in your hand from using. Heats up very quickly so this is great for people who are in a rush. Overall it was a very effective iron and I would absolutely recommend this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great powerful iron.Submitted as part of a selected review panel. I have had this iron for 4 weeks now and I am very impressed so far. I found it pretty straight forward to set up. The iron is really light and easy to move around and the constant steam available makes light work of even the toughest Creases. I found the removable iron plate a really good idea as I'm left handed and the iron sits on my right and saves having to turn the ironing board round every time I need to use it. So far I have never used the steam on the highest setting as it has coped with everything on the middle setting. Only two little things have got to me so far. If you do a few quick pulses of steam I've noticed a bit of water dripping from the iron getting clothes wet. And a rubber grip on the iron handle would be nice as it can feel a bit slippery if doing a large load.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Now even my husband will iron.Submitted as part of a selected review panel. I have had this almost four weeks now and I will definitely not be going back to my old iron. This makes short work of everything. A pair of linen trousers and six shirts were done in less time than it usually takes to do just the trousers. The temperature does not even need to be at the higher recommended level for every crease in that linen to just disappear. The amount of steam constantly available can even be seen in my photo. The only downside I can come up with is obviously the size is bigger than my old one so I have to find somewhere else to store it but that is a small problem in comparison to the amount of time it saves. I also have to have the base on a table beside me as it won't sit on the ironing board but there is a removable stand so that the iron itself can be put down on the board. My husband has to wear a shirt to work and now he will quite happily iron not only his own but the kids school ones too. I have other bosch products but I would say this is the best one out of all

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light, quiet and speedy.Submitted as part of a selected review panel. We love this and can only think of one slight negative so lets get that out of the way, there is tube in the water reservoir and I cant see what it is i the instruction book. As for the rest The handset is very light so my wife can use t easily, she has Fibromylegia which means (amongst other things) that her hands and arms are quite weak, but she manages to use this with no problems. The power cord comes out of the front of the base and the steam cord out of the back, This is unlike my previous iron (different brand) and this placing means the two cords don't get tangled, this used to drive me mad on my previous model When I was looking into the model I saw comments that the base it a bit big for the Ironing board, I have a standard one and it fits fine, but if it didn't I could put it on the floor as the iron plate is detachable and I could place this on the ironing board instead. But it feels very stable The Water reservoir is very large and easily detachable and takes fresh water which is a bonus. And finally the motor is quite quiet and only runs for a short period so I can hear the TV. Overall we are very pleased with this iron
